We process personal data lawfully, fairly and transparently. Data is collected and processed only for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes and is not further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes.
We apply systems and processes to ensure that the data we collect and store is minimised and limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. We strive to keep your personal data accurate and up to date and to store it only for as long as necessary. You may withdraw consent for processing at any time unless another lawful basis requires us to retain the data.
Private Secondary Language School BRITANICA Ltd. is a personal data controller and complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act and the applicable legislation.
Personal data and processing.
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Processing means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, including collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, use, disclosure, restriction, erasure or destruction.
Personal data collected and processed by Private Secondary Language School BRITANICA Ltd. for City Summer.
1. We collect your full name, personal identification number, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, identity document data and, where the applicant is under 18, the details of the legal representative, including full name, personal identification number, postal address and relationship to the applicant. These data are collected voluntarily when the registration form is completed and are necessary in order to prepare and conclude the City Summer contract.
After the registration form is completed and received in our system, a contract for participation in City Summer is sent. The data is processed so that we can identify the relevant person as a party to the contract and as the holder of the rights and obligations under it. Identity document data may be processed to verify validity and prevent possible fraud or misuse of personal data. We also process data when necessary to exercise our rights under contracts, settle legal disputes, provide information to competent authorities and comply with accounting and tax obligations.
2. Other information collected when signing the City Summer contract includes information about the school and class of the child, allergies, chronic diseases, medication, food preferences, friends, nickname, age, interests, sleeping habits, character, whether the child has attended a camp before and how you learned about our camps.
Information about the school and class is collected in order to take into account the length of the school day, school shifts, workload, the child’s habits and the need for appropriate organisation. Specific information about allergies, chronic diseases, medication and food preferences is collected in order to ensure the safety and comfort of children, transport, meals, medical care and adequate supervision. Information about friends, nickname, age, interests, sleep and personality is collected in order to create groups, provide an individual approach and help children adapt more easily.
Photos and videos of children taken during the camp are processed in order to make parents part of the children’s experiences and to show the activities carried out during City Summer. They may be published in printed editions, social media profiles and BRITANICA websites only where explicit consent has been given. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Your e-mail address, telephone number and name may also be processed so that we can send information related to activities, programmes, news and marketing materials, where consent has been provided. If no City Summer contract is signed with you, and there is no other lawful basis for storing the data, the data will be deleted.

In case of data transfer, Private Secondary Language School BRITANICA Ltd. obliges third parties, clients, employees and partners to maintain confidentiality and to use personal data only for the agreed purposes. Personal data may also be transferred as an asset in connection with merger, sale, reorganisation or other corporate changes, and may be provided to public authorities where required by law.
Transfer of data outside the EU.
Your data may be transferred or processed outside your country of residence, including countries that may not have the same data protection laws or the same level of protection as countries within the European Union. Any such transfer will be carried out in accordance with this privacy policy and the applicable legislation, while maintaining an equivalent level of protection for the personal data.
Retention period of personal data.
We will keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy and to prove their fulfilment, or in accordance with your instructions and withdrawal of consent where applicable. If no City Summer contract is concluded, data without another lawful basis for storage will be deleted or anonymised.
